Beijing: Go '09

Hi Everyone,

We just got back from a 3 day, 2 night Youth “Campference” in Beijing called ‘Go ‘09’, run by Beijing International Christian Fellowship (BICF) and Capital Community Church (CCC). We were invited to lead worship at each of the main sessions, and at 3 different venues across the city.

The youth were amazing. I was bowled over at how hungry they were to worship God and to pray for their city. We introduced a few new songs, with Every Nation catching on in particular and becoming somewhat of a theme song for the weekend.

As part of "Go '09", the youth had an opportunity to visit one of Care For Children's homes for blind children. Care For Children is an organization that is very close to our heart, and it really touched our team to hear testimony of the youth worshipping with the children and singing "Open The Eyes of My Heart" with them.

The speaker for the ‘campference’ was Geoff Safford, and he was flown in from West Wind church in the United States. His talks were fantastic and it was wonderful how the spirit enabled us to dovetail together so well.

We had a wonderful time in China, and it really was a privilege for us to play a small part in what God is already doing in Beijing.
